Aeration EPDM/Silicone/TPU Membrane
Aeration membrane is made of EPDM/Silicone/TPU material.
The membrane fits firmly against the support tube. There are micro pores on the membrane, and the special perforation method on the surface of the membrane can not only maintain the diameter of the bubbles discharged from the aerator at about 2mm, but also reduce the resistance loss of the aerator relatively.
The opening of the membrane is designed to be a self-closing structure. When the aeration is stopped, the air hole will be sealed and closed under the action of water pressure, which can effectively prevent the back flow of sewage.
Comparison between EPDM/Silicon:
- Price: The raw material cost of EPDM is lower than that of Silicon membrane.
- Temperature:Silicone rubber has better temperature resistance. EPDM rubber has a temperature resistance of 150 °C, and silicone rubber has a temperature resistance of 200 °C;
- Weather resistance: EPDM rubber has better weather resistance, and the rubber itself is environmentally friendly, also in a humid environment, EPDM rubber is less likely to breed bacteria;
- Tear and puncture resistance: EPDM rubber is better.
- Other: EPDM rubber has good ozone resistance and high strength; high hardness, but poor low temperature brittleness; while silicon has good elasticity and low temperature resistance; but the ozone resistance is general and the strength is low.
Polyurethane TPU membrane is a newly emerging aerator membrane, the main feature is that the thickness of the membrane is very thin, it has excellent stretchability whether it is at low temperature or high temperature, and its chemical resistance and hydrolysis resistance Improvement, softening point, higher residual strength at high temperature, stronger material stability, safer, heat aging resistance, oxidation resistance, wear resistance, etc. have better performance.

When the aeration stops, the aerator membrane has a self-closing function, the micro pores on the membrane will close by itself, and the sewage will not enter the aerator system, and the smooth surface of the membrane can prevent sludge from clogging , After stopping the aeration for a long time, it can still aerate normally.
Gas distribution performance: ensure that the air flow is evenly distributed on the entire surface, and the number and size of holes on the membrane fully meet the requirements of oxygenation performance.
The appearance of the micro porous membrane is smooth, flat, free of impurities, bubbles and cracks.
